The shop was founded in 1938 by Charlie Jackson, a keen aeromodeller who later
competed to gain a second place at the World Model Air Olympics in 1954 in the
'Wakefield' rubber power class. He continued to build and fly all his life, and
even had several models under construction when the illness that he had been
fighting
so courageously for five years finally beat him.
